Power Delivery charging technology

Over the last few decades, there has been an advancement in charging technologies aimed at meeting the growing power demands of the electronic devices we use in our daily lives.

At Ksix we have a variety of charging technologies, such as the Power Delivery system, designed to meet both your needs and our demands.

What is Power Delivery?

Power Delivery (PD) is a charging technology featured in some chargers and powerbanks with a USB-C port. This technology offers a much faster and more efficient charge than conventional chargers, as it adjusts power in real time according to the needs of the device to provide a fast and safe charge at every moment.

For example, an iPhone 14 accepts up to 20 watts (W) of power. If a conventional charger with a fixed power of 25 watts is used, the smartphone battery will receive more power than necessary, and it will suffer. With Power Delivery this does not happen, as the charger/powerbank used recognises this need and adjusts the power to 20 watts.

Thanks to this feature, chargers and powerbanks that incorporate Power Delivery can be used for a wide variety of devices: from smartphones and tablets to laptops.

The charging standard of the present and the future

Nowadays, Power Delivery has become one of the favourite options for users to charge electronic devices.

Its versatility, power adjustability, fast and efficient charging, and widespread adoption of the USB-C standard make Power Delivery the optimal charge for all your devices.

Today, the vast majority of mid-to-high end chargers incorporate this technology to provide better charging, which is capable of reaching much higher power ratings than conventional chargers.

Reasons to choose a charger or powerbank with Power Delivery

Buying a charger or powerbank with Power Delivery offers several significant advantages over conventional chargers and powerbanks.

- Fast and efficient charge: Power Delivery can deliver significantly higher powers compared to conventional charging devices, resulting in faster and more efficient charging.

- Versatility: This technology is compatible with a wide variety of devices, from phones and tablets to laptops, meaning that a single charger or powerbank will optimally charge multiple devices.

- Safe and smart charge: This charger incorporates safety measures that ensure safe charging for your devices, preventing overcharging or damage to the batteries. It also adapts to the specific power needs of your devices by adjusting the power setting, which prolongs battery life.

- Ready for the future:With the growing adoption of Power Delivery and the universal use of the USB-C connector, buying a charger or powerbank with this technology ensures that you are prepared for future devices and models that will use this charging standard.

Is my device compatible with PD?

To benefit from the Power Delivery charging technology of a charger or powerbank it is necessary to use a USB-C cable and that the device you are charging is PD compatible.

This technology is compatible with a wide variety of brands, models and devices:

- Samsung: Samsung Galaxy S10 Series and later, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Series, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.

- Apple: iPhone 8 Series and later, iPad mini 6 and later, iPad 9 and later, iPad Pro 2nd and 4th generation.

- Huawei: Mate 10 and later, P20 Series and later.

- Oneplus: 6 Series and later, Nord 2 Series and later.

- Laptops: Current Macbook models, Microsoft Surface, Huawei Matebook and others. In general, laptops with a USB-C charging port.

Although this technology is compatible with the vast majority of current devices that incorporate USB-C, we recommend that, if in doubt, you contact the manufacturer of your device to ensure its compatibility.

Even if you don't have a device with Power Delivery, a charger with this technology can charge it, you just won't enjoy the specific benefits of this charging protocol.
