PPS charging technology

In the last few years, there has been significant progress in the development of charging technologies aimed at meeting the growing power demands of the electronic devices we use in our day-to-day lives.

In Ksix we offer several products with different charging modes, such as PPS technology, designed to perform its function of providing an efficient charge to our devices.

What is PPS?

PPS (Programmable Power Supply) is an advanced fast charging technology for USB-C devices. The main feature of wall chargers with PPS is their dynamic power management. A charger with PPS is able to adjust the voltage and the current supplied in real time, delivering the maximum power depending on the state of charge of a device.

For example, a charger with PPS will provide much more power to a device with 5% battery than to a device with 98% battery. The charger will dynamically manage power so as not to damage the battery and to be as efficient and safe as possible.

Thanks to this benefit, PPS-enabled chargers provide fast, safe and efficient charge while charging compatible devices, extending battery life and avoiding unnecessary power loss. Chargers with PPS also incorporate Power Delivery charging technology.

Why should I buy a charger with PPS?

Getting a PPS charger offers several significant advantages over conventional chargers.

- Dynamic power management: These chargers adjust the output voltage and current more precisely than conventional chargers. This means that the power they provide adapts to the changing power needs of a device during charging.

- Charge optimisation: PPS is useful for optimising the charging of a device's battery by providing stable and regulated power at all times, prolonging battery life and preventing damage due to overcharging.

- Improved energy efficiency: By accurately adjusting voltage and current, PPS reduces energy loss during charging, which contributes to greater energy efficiency and saves on electricity bills.

- Stronger together: Chargers with PPS also feature Power Delivery fast charging technology. The fusion of these two technologies provides smart, fast, efficient and safe charging for all compatible devices.

Is my device compatible with PPS?

To benefit from a charger's PPS charging technology you need to use a USB-C cable and the device you are charging must support PPS.

- Samsung: Samsung Galaxy S20 Series and later, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Series and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and later.

- Google: Pixel 4 and later.

- It is also compatible with some current laptop models with USB-C port.

If in doubt, please contact your device manufacturer to ensure compatibility with the PPS charging protocol.

Chargers that feature PPS can also be used to charge devices that do not specifically support this charging protocol. This includes, among many others:
